Will people notice I’m wearing extensions?
Absolutely not! It will be impossible to distinguish between your own hair and the extensions, providing they have been applied correctly, and that the color is identical to yours. If your hair has highlights, the hair dresser can mix extensions of different shades during application.
Sometimes it is obvious when someone has extensions: this is because not enough attention has been paid to the choice of color, or because insufficient hair has been applied to blend with the person’s own hair, making the difference visible, or because the cut which serves to “connect” the hair to the extensions has been poorly done.
Can I get extensions even if I have highlighted/shatush hair?
Of course! We sell both highlighted and shatush-effect extensions, in both keratin and tape-in varieties. If you are unable to find highlighted extensions which match your own hair, your hairdresser can recreate a highlighted effect using different shades.
How long does my hair need to be for hair extensions?
We recommend a minimum hair length of 10-15 cm to cover the bonds of the extensions and achieve a good result.
I have severe hair loss – are extensions an option for me?
The extensions are applied to your own hair, so if your own hair falls out, then the extension will fall out with it. If your hair is thin but in good health, you can use extensions to give an effect of thickness. If you have severe hair loss due to hormonal reasons or medical treatment, it is better to avoid extensions and explore other options.
Will extensions ruin my hair?
No, quite the opposite – they cover the hair and protect it from stress such as smog, atmospheric agents, and heat. It is vital to choose a quality product, opt for a salon with experience in applying extensions, and ensure regular upkeep.
How long do extensions last?
Their duration is different for everyone – it depends on the type of extension and how well they are cared for. Keratin extensions can last up to 6 months, if they are of good quality, correctly applied, and cared for. Due to the regrowth of the wearer’s own hair, they cannot be re-used after this time.
Tape-in extensions, if kept in good condition, can be re-used simply by replacing the adhesive.
The first application can last for up to 4 months, after which they must be removed, and re-applied if so wished.
How are extensions removed?
We recommend NEVER removing extensions by yourself at home – always contact a specialist salon.
To remove keratin extensions, a specific product (keratin remover) is sprayed on to the keratin bond and left for a few seconds take effect. Using pliers, slight pressure is then applied to break the keratin bond and remove the extension, using a comb if necessary.
The same process is used to remove tape-in extensions: after applying an adhesive remover, the extension can be detached and any glue residue removed with a comb.
